About Pennington Seed and Supply

Pennington Seed and Supply Company was founded in February 1972 in Gates, TN, by Hal J. Pennington and his wife, Betty. To benefit the local farming communities, the family-operated business began as a country general merchandise store specializing in hardware, feed, and seed. In 1974, the company relocated to Dyersburg, Tennessee.

In 1991, Pennington’s Gourmet Pecans were added to the company’s product inventory, where they have become a holiday must-have and are shipped to customers throughout North America. Pennington’s continues to be a family-owned company that is currently owned and managed by Hal Michael Pennington. It still operates in the original rustic building that resides in historic downtown Dyersburg.

The business was featured on an episode of Tennessee Crossroads, a Nashville Public Television original production series, which showed the process its pecans undergo before being presented to the public and how its traditional slogan, “Something of the Past, Something of Now,” still rings true. The business thrives on creating a memorable shopping experience by delivering personal customer assistance with a passionate flair of Southern charm as soon as you enter the doors.
